Wolf Parade Information
Wolf Parade is an Indie Rock band from Canada. The band was formed in April 2003 in Montreal, by a former member Spencer Krug of the group “Frog Eyes.” He started the band with his fellow Canadian guitarist Dan Boeckner. They both started writing songs in Krug’s apartment. Later on, another addition in the band was a drummer named Arlen Thompson, who was invited by the Krug. Hadji Bakara joined the band as a synthesizer in September 2003.
Wolf Parade released their debut self-titled EP the same year they started to show off in public that is known as their 4 Song EP. In 2004 summers, the band came up with their second release that was again a self-titled EP entitled 6 Song EP. Isaac Brock of the Modest Mouse helped the band to sign with Sub Pop, which was a popular record label. Under their new label, Wolf Parade released their EP “Wolf Parade,” which was their widely distributed released as well in July 2005.
Wolf Parade released their debut studio album on September 27, 2005, called “Apologies to the Queen Mary.” The album achieved success and also got the nomination for 2006 Polaris Music Price. On June 17, 2008, the band released its second album, “At Mount Zoomer.” A few more albums released by the Wolf Parade under the Sub Pop label include Expo 86 (June 29, 2010) and Cry Cry Cry (October 6, 2017). Some famous singles include Language City (2008), Valley Boy (2017), Modern World (2009), and several others.
