Washington Huskies Mens Basketball Information
The Washington Huskies men's basketball team plays NCAA Division I college basketball for the University of Washington. They are part of the Pac-12 Conference. Head coach Mike Hopkins oversees the team, and they play their home games at Seattle's Hec Edmundson Pavilion.
The Huskies' gymnastics, volleyball, and men's and women's basketball teams all call Hec Edmundson Pavilion home. The multi-use arena will operate for 94 seasons from 2020 to 21. The project was originally scheduled to be finished in December 1927.
Wilson James Commissioning refurbished the inside of Hec Edmundson Pavilion for $40 million. From March 1999 until November 2000, a total of nineteen months were devoted to the refurbishment.
For the first part of the 2010–11 basketball season, the arena went under the name "Hec Edmundson Pavilion" again, despite the lack of sponsors." Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion" was renamed to honor the Seattle-based airline by the university on January 20, 2011.
With an 8-9 record heading into 2019, the Huskies have made nine appearances in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT). The Huskies have seventeen appearances in the NCAA Tournament and a 19-18 record as of 2020.
