Seattle Mariners Information
The Seattle Mariners is an American professional baseball team. The team was established in 1977. They have been playing their home games at T-Mobile Park since 1999. Their uniform colors are cream, yellow, royal blue, Northwest green, metallic silver, and navy blue. Baseball Club of Seattle, LP, is the principal owner of the Mariners. Jerry Dipoto is the president of baseball operations.
The team is now managed by Scott Servais and is overseen by general manager Justin Hollander. It was the longest active drought among the four major North American sports, and the team wouldn't return to the playoffs until 2022. As of 2022, the team has had a losing record in 30 of 46 seasons. For the longest period, the Mariners have been the only active MLB team ever to have made it to the WORDSWorld Series.
With a record of 3,402–3,783 (.473) in 2022, the Mariners have a rich history of success on the field. On August 27, 2022, the Mariners inducted Ichiro Suzuki into their Hall of Fame, making him the most recent player to do so. During the 2022 season, "Can't Hold Us" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will play instead of "Louie Louie" for the Mariners' opening theme. The Mariners have announced that beginning in the 2023 season, the navy blue jerseys will serve as the team's primary away uniform.
The Seattle Mariners are playing their 48th season in 2024. The current team record is 23–19 (.548). Their home ballpark, T-Mobile Park in Seattle, Washington, is hosting their 25th entire season and 26th season overall. Home games against the Boston Red Sox began the 2024 season on March 28, and home games against the Oakland Athletics will conclude on September 29, 2024.
While recovering from Tommy John surgery, which ends a season-ending elbow treatment, may have been a lengthy and lonely process, Matt Brash has been nothing but positive since meeting the Mariners on their nine-game homestand just three months after the procedure.
