The South Korean girl duo Twice, whose name is frequently styled as Tuwaisu in Japanese, was established by JYP Entertainment. The group's nine members are Tzuyu, Sana, Mina, Sana, Sana, Jihyo, Jeongyeon, and Chaeyoung. Twice first appeared on October 20, 2015, with the EP The Story Begins after being established under the television program Sixteen (2015).
Their 2016 single 'Cheer Up' was a game-changer for Twice, catapulting them to domestic stardom. It not only topped the Gaon Digital Chart but also became the year's best-performing single. The song's success was further validated when it took home 'Song of the Year' honors at both the Melon Music Awards and the Mnet Asian Music Awards. This was just the beginning of their journey to becoming a global sensation.
The trio made their Japanese debut on June 28, 2017, with the publication of #Twice, a compilation album under Warner Music Japan. Japanese album sales for a K-pop artist in the first week of release were the highest in two years, propelling the album to number two on the Oricon Albums Chart. Shortly after, Twice's debut original Japanese maxi single "One More Time" was released in October. With its high position of 80 on the UK Singles Chart and 83 on the US Billboard Hot 100, "The Feels" became their first official English-language single to reach those lists.
