Vegas Golden Knights Information
American ice hockey fans can cheer on the Vegas Golden Knights. The Golden Knights, an expansion team founded in 2017, are the city of Las Vegas's first professional sports team. Bill Foley and the Maloof family head the group of investors known as Black Knight Sports and Entertainment, which owns the team. On the Las Vegas Strip, T-Mobile Arena is where all their home games are held. Black, red, gold and steel grey make up the rest of their costume.
In the first month of the 2022-23 season, the Golden Knights led the Pacific Division with a 17-6-1 record after losing only two games. After that, though, the club struggled, going a combined 12-23-3 in December and January (including a 1-5-2 slide in the final eight games before the All-Star break).
The Golden Knights won 7-2 against the Minnesota Wild, while the St. Louis Blues lost 5-2 against the Carolina Hurricanes in April 2024, securing their sixth playoff berth in their first seven seasons.
The Golden Knights lost a seven-game series against the Dallas Stars in the playoffs. Dallas had a 2-0 series lead, but the Golden Knights couldn't overcome it, winning four of the last five games. In March, the team grabbed defenseman Tobias Bjornfot from the Vegas Golden Knights' waiver claim.
The Vegas Golden Knights and Noah Hanifin inked a $58.8 million, eight-year deal in April. On average, it's worth $7.35 million every year.
