The Carolina Panthers is an American professional football team. The team was established on October 26, 1993. They have been playing home games at Bank of American Stadium since 1996. Their uniform color scheme includes silver, process blue, and black. The team's official mascot is Sir Purr. David Tepper owns the Panthers. Kristi Coleman is the current president, and Scott Fitterer is the general manager. Frank Reich is serving as the current head coach of the team.
While their stadium in uptown Charlotte was being built, the Panthers played their inaugural season at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina. The original Ericsson Stadium debuted in the summer of 1996; it was renamed Bank of America Stadium in 2004. The Panthers' home field also doubles as its headquarters and administrative offices, thanks to the stadium's custom design by HOK Sports Facilities Group.
The 2022 season was the Carolina Panthers' eighth season as an NFC franchise. Panther Football, LLC is the franchise's official name, and David Tepper is the current owner. On May 22, 2018, the league's owners unanimously authorized Tepper's purchase of the team from original owner Jerry Richardson. As per the Forbes, the estimated club's value is $2.3 billion.
The Panthers head into 2025 trying to reset after a brutal 2–15 finish last season. With Dave Canales now running the show as head coach, the focus is on getting the most out of second-year quarterback Bryce Young. To help him, Carolina drafted wide receiver Malik Nabers in the first round — a true playmaker who should instantly lift the offense. They also added offensive lineman Kingsley Suamataia to bolster protection. The defense got attention, too, with linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. joining the mix. Carolina opens the season on the road against Washington.
