Colorado Rockies Information
The Colorado Rockies are an MLB team from Denver, Colorado. The Colorado Rockies are from the NL West division of Major League Baseball (MLB). The Coors Field is in Denver's Lower Downtown neighborhood, where the team plays its home games. The Monfort brothers own it, and Bud Black oversees all the operations.
The Rockies debuted in 1993 as an expansion team and spent their first two seasons playing at Mile High Stadium. They've been playing at Coors Field, a "hitter's park," since 1995. The Rockies have made the playoffs five times via the Wild Card. In 2007, the Rockies won their only National League championship by winning 14 of their final 15 regular season games. The team also clinched a Wild Card spot with a 9-8 victory over the San Diego Padres in the tiebreaker game, which became known as "Game 163" among Rockies fans.
The Rockies won 21 of their 22 games before the 2007 World Series. They swept the Philadelphia Phillies and Arizona Diamondbacks in the National League Division Series and National League Championship Series, respectively. However, the eventual champion Boston Red Sox swept them in four games.
The Rockies have a record of 2,201-2,495 (.469 winning percentage) from 1993 through 2022. The 2023 NBA Finals were won by the Denver Nuggets, making the Rockies the only one of Denver's main professional sports franchises (MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL) to have never won a title.
The Colorado Rockies are playing their 30th season at Coors Field and 32nd season overall in 2024. Bud Black is serving as the team manager for the eighth year. The current team record is 13–28 (.317).
