The Stanford Cardinal men's basketball team is the official basketball team of Stanford University, located in Stanford, California. The school's squad competes in the Pac-12 Conference during the season. Jerod Haase serves as their coach, and they play their home games at Maples Pavilion.

1914 marked the beginning of Stanford's participation in varsity intercollegiate men's basketball competition. In addition to one NCAA title, which they won in 1942, the Cardinal have won thirteen conference championships, eight of which were in the Pacific Coast Conference and five in the Pac-10. 

With a total record of 23–16, the Cardinals have participated in 17 NCAA Tournaments during their history. They won the national championship in 1942, but they did not come back until 1989, 47 years later. With a total record of 19–6, the Cardinals have participated in nine National Invitation Tournaments (NIT) during their history. They have won the National Invitational Tournament thrice (1991, 2012, and 2015).

Additionally, the Premo-Porretta Power Poll and the Helms Athletic Foundation retrospectively acknowledged Stanford as the pre-NCAA tournament national champion for the 1936–1937 season. This recognition was conferred upon Stanford. In 2014, the squad participated in the NCAA tournament for the final time.
