Mary Jane Blige is a New York City American actress, singer, and songwriter. She sang in a Pentecostal church in Richmond Hill, Georgia, where she spent her early years. Andre Harrell, the founder of Uptown Records, signed her in 1988, marking the beginning of her professional career. Blige joined Pride in Yonkers, where she met the band's drummer, Eddie D'Aprile.
Blige has released 14 studio albums throughout her career, with four reaching #1 on the Billboard 200. Her biggest hits are Real Love, You Remind Me, Not Gon' Cry, I'm Goin' Down, Be Without You, Just Fine, and her number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100, "Family Affair".
