Winston Surfshirt is an Australian funk and hip-hop band. The current lineup of the group consists of Winston, The Bone on trombone, Bustlip, The Bone, Bik Julio, Dool, and Mi-K. With Surfshirt on lead vocals and several instruments, Bustlip on beats, Bik Julio on bass, Dool on keys, and Mi-K on guitar and keys, the eponymous six-piece funk hip-hop band was created in 2015 by the solo musician Winston Surfshirt.
Their sound is a fusion of surf rock and West Coast rap. Winston Surfshirt has opened for Rüfüs on tour and played at festivals like Falls and Splendour in the Grass. Sponge Cake, their debut album, was published on September 29, 2017, and Apple Crumble, their sophomore effort, will be released on November 15, 2019.
Panna Cotta, the band's third studio album, was announced in August 2022. The Australian Independent Record Awards, or AIR Awards as they are more frequently known, are held annually to honor the achievements of the country's independent music industry.
