The Temptations Information
The Temptations is an American vocal group. The current lineup consists of Otis William Ron Tyson, Terry Weeks, Tony Grant, and Jawan M. Jackson. After releasing "Oh Mother of Mine" and "Check Yourself" on Miracle, the label was shut down by Berry Gordy, who then moved the Temptations to his new company, Gordy Records, with Paul Williams at the helm. In 1999, the Temptations were honored with entry into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.
The group's third Grammy, for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance, came from the album Ear-Resistible, released in 2000. Bruce Williamson, a former member of the Temptations, passed away on September 6, 2020, at 49. Singles "Is It Gonna Be Yes Or No" (containing Smokey Robinson) and "When We Were Kings" (also featuring Robinson) from The Temptations' upcoming album, Temptations 60, were released in the fall of 2021. The album was expected to drop in the first month of 2022.
Otis Williams welcomed Tony Grant to The Temptations in Orlando, Florida, in December 2021. Grant, a former R&B trio Az Yet member and a star of multiple Tyler Perry theatrical productions has taken over for Mario Corbino. In June 2022, the band announced that Jawan M. Jackson would replace Willie Green on bass. Otis Williams, the group's original leader and sole owner of the Temptations moniker, is still a part of the band's lineup in 2023.
