William Charles Anderson (May 5, 1986) is a famous American musician, singer, and songwriter from Sacramento, California. His music is defined as pop-rock and pop. Anderson is best known as the lead vocalist of Parachute, a famous pop-rock band. At a young age, he moved to Charlottesville, Virginia, with his family. He took piano lessons as a young child and received his first guitar when he was only 11. During high school and college, Anderson worked as a lifeguard, and in 2008, he graduated from the University of Virginia, majoring in music.
In high school, Anderson founded the band Sparky’s Flaw with his classmates Johnny Stubblefield, Kit French, and Alex Hargrave. During his time in university, he met Nate McFarland; both were working in The Virginia Gentlemen. Anderson’s band released two independent EPs. The group name would later change to Parachute and was signed to Mercury Records in 2007. The band has released five albums since 2009 and toured with many notable artists such as Kelly Clarkson, NEEDTOBREATHE, Jon McLaughlin, Switchfoot, The Script, and Mat Kearney.
As a teenager, Anderson was a big fan of Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Ben Folds Five, although his favorite singer is Sam Cooke.
