Whitesnake is a hard-rock band that was formed in the year 1978 by David Coverdale. The band originated from Middlesbrough, Cleveland. The music of the band is defined as the mixture of blues rock, glam metal, heavy metal, and hard rock. The current lineup of Whitesnake includes David Coverdale, Tommy Aldridge, Reb Beach, Joel Hoekstra, Michael Devin, and Michele Luppi.
The first EP by Whitesnake was Snakebite, which was released in 1978. It included a cover of a Bobby "Blue" Bland song "Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City" that acted as the first-ever hit for the band. The EP also enjoyed success in the UK. It was followed by the debut album entitled Trouble in 1978. A few of the other albums by Whitesnake include; Lovehunter (1979), Ready an' Willing (1980), Come an' Get It (1981), Saints & Sinners (1982), Slide It In (1984), Whitesnake (1987), Slip of the Tongue (1989), Good to Be Bad (2008), Flesh & Blood (2019), and a few more.
Whitesnake also released several hit singles to date among which the best ones are "Ready an' Willing," "Don't Break My Heart Again," "Guilty of Love," "Standing in the Shadow," "Here I Go Again '87", "The Deeper the Love," "Too Many Tears," and a few more. Live... in the Heart of the City, Starkers In Tokyo, Live... in the Still of the Night, Live... in the Shadow of the Blues, Made in Japan, and Made in Britain/The World Record are some of the Live Albums released by the group.
Whitesnake toured heavily throughout its career. A few of the successful tours performed by the band include Ready an' Willing Tour (1980), Forevermore World Tour (2011), Global Warming Tour (2013), The Purple Tour (2015-2016), The Greatest Hits Tour (2016), Flesh & Blood World Tour (2018–present), and the list goes on.
