Warren Haynes (April 6, 1960) is an American musician, singer, and composer. He founded the jam band Gov't Mule and was the guitarist for the Allman Brothers Band for a long period. He began his musical career playing guitar for artists like Dickey Betts and David Allan Coe. At 20 years old, Warren Haynes became a member of David Allan Coe's touring and recording band in 1980. For four years, he was a member of Coe's band.
In April 2012, Stax Records released Live at The Moody Theater, The Warren Haynes Band, a unique musical offering that showcased Haynes' guitar prowess and soulful vocals. The album, available on 2 CDs and 1 DVD, featured a stellar lineup, including Ron Holloway on sax, Ron Johnson on bass, Terence Higgins on drums, Nigel Hall on keyboards, and Alecia Chakour on backing vocals.
Haynes has hinted that he could branch out into even more areas with his future solo work. Haynes claimed to be a "Gibson man" since he frequently used Gibson guitars, including Les Paul, Firebird, and ES-335 models. Gibson, an American guitar manufacturer, has noted this and added a Warren Haynes signature Les Paul to their lineup.
