Tyrone Wells Information
Tyrone Wells is an American singer and songwriter. He was born in Seattle, Washington. He moved to California to pursue music after saying his older sisters "brought out the music in me" during interviews. Wells joined the band Sinai in 1994 while studying at Hope International University in Southern California. The group released two albums on Say-Sos Records before signing with Word Records and changing their name to Skypark for the 1998 album Am I Pretty?, which was nominated for a Dove Award.
Wells began his solo career in 2000 with acoustic performances in Orange County, California. Wells began working with Universal Records as early as 2006. His 2006 self-released album Hold On was re-released online in 2006 and in shops on February 6, 2007. Wells collaborated on Hold On with Chris Karn and Marc Ford, the show's producers.
On January 27, 2009, Wells dropped his debut solo album, Remain. Single "More" from Remain did well enough on Triple A radio to peak at No. 13. For the premiere of Season 6 of Grey's Anatomy, the second song, "Sink or Swim," was featured in promotional materials. The American daytime serial opera As the World Turns utilized "Time of Our Lives" by Wells in a promotional video for the show's September 2010 finale, and "Memory Lane" (Season 2, Episode 4) of The Vampire Diaries featured the song as well.
