Journey - Rock Band Information
Journey is an American rock band. The current lineup comprises Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Deen Castronovo, Arnel Pineda, Jason Derlatka, and Todd Jensen. The band debuted to an audience of 10,000 on New Year's Eve 1973 at the Winterland Ballroom. The following day, the group flew to Hawaii to play in front of a crowd of nearly 100,000 at Diamond Head Crater. In November 1974, Journey entered CBS Studios with producer Roy Halee to record the band's self-titled debut album. The album came out in April 1975, debuting at position 138 on the Billboard rankings.
Freedom, the band's fifteenth studio album, was released on July 8, 2022, after the title and track listing were announced on February 16, 2022. Release dates for the album's subsequent singles were as follows: "You Got the Best of Me" (April 26, 2022), "Let It Rain" (May 17, 2022), "Don't Give Up on Us" (June 7, 2022) and "United We Stand" (July 4, 2022).
On March 1, 2022, Cain announced that Walden and Jackson were no longer part of the band. Walden had left after suffering a small heart attack after a performance in Pennsylvania. Live in Concert at Lollapalooza, Journey's fifth live album, was released on December 9, 2022, after being announced on October 27, 2022. After Cain sang "Don't Stop Believin'" for Donald Trump in December 2022, Schon issued a cease injunction, saying that Cain "has no right to use Journey for politics."
