Ty Segall Information
Ty Garrett Segall (June 8, 1987) is an American record producer, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. He was born in Laguna Beach, California. Segall was an adopted kid. He started taking interest in music when he was in high school. After high school, he went to the University of San Francisco, where Segall graduated as a media studies student. After graduating from the university, Segall started to construct grow boxes for cannabis plants, but his main focus was completely towards music during all that time.
Segall started to play as a part-time musician in various underground bands who were operating from San Francisco Bay Area and Orange County. He began his solo career properly in the year 2008. Segall released his first solo cassette called “Horn the Unicorn” under the Wizard Mountain label. The tape was re-released by HBSP-2X under the label Vinyl Record at that same time.
Segall released his debut self-titled album in 2008. In the year 2012, Segall released three full-length albums. Those three albums were entitled as Hair, Slaughterhouse, and Twins. Since Segall started his career, he has released numbers of records so far including Lemons (2009), Goodbye Bread (2011), Melted (2010), Sleeper (2013), Manipulator (2014), Emotional Mugger (2016), Ty Segall (2017), Freedom’s Goblin (2018), and First Taste (2019).
Some studio albums that Segall released with hit collaborations are; Hair (with White Fence), Joy (with White Fence), Reverse Shark Attack (with Mikal Cronin), and a few more. He has also appeared with Dave Davies in his solo album “Livin’ in the Past” that was released in the year 2013.
