Twista Information
Carl Terrell Mitchell (November 27, 1973) is an American rapper. He is best known by his stage name, Twista, born in Chicago, Illinois. Mitchell's debut album as Tung Twista, titled Runnin' Off at da Mouth, was released in 1992.
His second album, Resurrection, was supposed to come out in 1994. Still, it was only released in his home city of Chicago due to label issues and confusion with fellow Chicago rapper Common's album.
With Chicago producer the Legendary Traxster and Cwal's Do or Die, he collaborated on the hit single "Po Pimp" in 1996. This resulted in Cwal signing with Atlantic Records and the subsequent 1997 release of his album, Adrenaline Rush. By then, Twista had removed the "Tung" from his name. Adrenaline Rush was Twista's debut album to reach the Billboard 200 list, and it peaked at position number 77.
The Legendary Traxster-produced single "Get It Wet" reached number 96 on the Billboard Hot 100, adding to the album's success. Twista and some fellow Chicago emcees formed the rap group Speedknot Mobstaz in 1998. Mobstability, their debut album, was released in 1998 and was created solely by the Legendary Traxster.
