Cypress Hill Information
Cypress Hill is one of the hit American hip hop bands, which is from South Gate, California. The group is active since 1991 and plays hip hop, west coast hip hop, rap-rock, and rap metal genres. The band is also famous for being the first Latino American hip hop recording group that earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Not only this, but platinum and multi-platinum albums that sold over 20 million albums across the globe. The current band members are B-Real, DJ Muggs, Sen Dog, Eric Bobo, and Mix Master Mike.
Cypress Hill is also considered one of the main progenitors of West Coast rap, along with hip hop (the early 1990s). The group has also been advocating for recreational use and medical use of cannabis in the United States. The self-titled first album by Cypress Hill was released in August 1991. It was followed by Black Sunday, which was released in 1993 and hit the number one spot on the Billboard 200.
The first appearance by the band was made at Lollapalooza on the side stage in the year 1992. Cypress Hill became the first band to have two albums in a row at the top 10 and, at the same time, at the Billboard 200. A single from the second album entitled "Insane in the Brain" turned out to be a crossover hit and caused the album to be triple platinum in the U.S. Not only this, but the album sold about 3.25 million copies.

Cypress Hill won the 2019 Hollywood walk of fame award and was nominated for MTV Video Music Awards 1994 along with three Grammy Awards for the category of Best Rap Performance by a Group or Duo.
