Twin Tribes is an American darkwave band founded in 2017 in Brownsville, Texas. After years of touring and three albums, the band has become a go-to for new gothic and darkwave styles. According to the band, they draw inspiration from synth-pop, new wave, and gothic rock/post-punk from the '80s. The Cure and Depeche Mode are among the bands mentioned.
Additionally, they bring up the impact of Rock en español, particularly Latin American groups such as Caifanes, Soda Stereo, and Size. Twin Tribes released three studio albums: Altars (2020), Ceremony (2019), and Shadows (2018). Their album Pendulum was released in 2024; however, two singles, "Monolith" and "Cauldron of Thorns," were released in 2023.
Critical acclaim for this album and the creative music video for "Monolith" was overwhelming. As part of their announcement in 2024, Pendulum shared the dates of a tour that included dozens of shows around Europe, Latin America, and North America. Quickly following its release, the band's single "Fantasmas" amassed over a million views on YouTube—all before the official music video could be uploaded.
