Iron Maiden is a heavy metal band from England. It was created in 1975 by Steve Harris, who plays bass and is the primary songwriter, in Leyton, East London. Harris, lead singer Bruce Dickinson, drummer Nicko McBrain, and guitarists Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, and Janick Gers have been the band's core members. However, the lineup has changed a few times in the beginning.
