Trippie Redd is the professional name of Michael Lamar White IV (June 18, 1999). He is an American rapper, songwriter, and singer. Trippie Redd is from Canton, Ohio. He plays vocals and deals in top genres like trap, emo rap, cloud rap, hip-hop, and alternative R&B. His mother was a single parent and developed his interest in music when she played Tupac, Beyonce, Ashanti, and Nas. Redd used to listen to artists such as KISS, Nirvana, Gucci Mane, T-Pain, and a few more at an early age. His rapping was initiated after being inspired by Taevion Williams.
Trippie Redd took off his music career seriously in 2014 when he met Lil Wop. The two worked with Kodie Shane and recorded three projects entitled Beast Mode, Rock the World Trippie, and Awakening My Inner Beast. "A Love Letter to You" was a debut mixtape by Redd that he released in May 2017. The album owned a lead single entitled "Love Scars," which enjoyed nearly 8 million views on YouTube within a few months of its release.
A 30-million-dollar record agreement with 10K projects was inked by White in 2022. He finally committed and spent all his money on a mansion in Florida, costing him a cool $7.5 million.
Pegasus (2020) and Trip at Knight (2021), Trippie Redd's third and fourth studio albums, debuted at position two on the Billboard 200. On January 20, 2023, White dropped Mansion Musik, his fifth studio album. On August 11, 2023, White dropped Volume 5 of his mixtape, A Love Letter to You. Artists including Bryson Tiller, Tommy Lee Sparta, Lil Wayne, and Skye Morales are included on this album.
On XXXTentacion's album 17, White appeared on the single "Fuck Love," which reached No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100. By 2023, the song had sold over 10 million copies, making it the first single by White to get the RIAA's highest certification, Diamond.
