Trapt Information
Trapt is an American rock band that was founded in Los Gatos, California, in 1995. The current lineup of the band is Chris Taylor Brown – lead vocals, rhythm guitar, Peter Charell – bass guitar, backing vocals, Brendan Hengle – lead guitar, and Mike Smith – drums. The music of the Trapt is defined as hard rock, alternative metal, Nu Metal, and post-grunge. The band members initially met in middle school and were in a NOFX cover band.
A few of the initial rehearsals by Trapt were in Simon Ormandy's guesthouse. In 1997, before any of the band members graduated from high school, they started playing at local venues. Before graduation, in 1988, the members were opening for up-and-coming fellow acts like Papa Roach. Amalgamation was the first CD by Trapt that came out in 1999. It was sold during their live shows. The Glimpse EP was their second discography that was released in 2000. It was followed by 2001's self-titled EP that served as the band's demo.
Some of the other notable albums by Trapt are Someone in Control (2005), Only Through the Pain (2008), No Apologies (2010), Reborn (2013), DNA (2016), and the latest one Shadow Work (2020). The group has cited Korn, Tool, Papa Roach, Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd, and Genesis as influences. The group also released many hit singles including "Headstrong," "Disconnected (Out of Touch)," "Love Hate Relationship," "Who's Going Home With You Tonight?," and "Living in the Eye of the Storm."
