Tomar and the FCs are an American soul band based in Austin, Texas. Tomar Williams, the lead member of the group, started singing as a lead on the Chitlin Circuit and his family band. NPR picked up Tomar and the FCs out of hundreds of entries from Austin during their 2016 representation of Tiny Desk Concert Series. In 2016, the band’s debut album was released entitled “Heart Attack.”
Tomar and the FCs debut album was mixed and recorded at Level One Studio and Grammy award-winning artist and engineer Adrian Quesada. According to KUTX, the album is full of pure energy and soul. The band self-recorded and self-released its debut EP entitled “Day by Day” in 2015, which was The Austin American Statesman selection as a top release.
Tomar and the FCs had not only been voted in the top five of the Austin Chronicle’s Music Poll for best blues, funk, and soul artist in 2017, but they are also pillars on the Austin music scene. The group has performed at several notable venues and festivals since it started performing. This includes shows throughout the United States, Austin City Limits (ACL), South by Southwest, River Revival, Old Settlers, and many more.
