Tiger Army Information
Tiger Army is an American psychobilly band. The current lineup consists of Nick 13 (guitars and lead vocals), Djordje Stijepovic (upright bass and backing vocals), and Mike Fasano (drums and percussion). The band is based in Los Angeles, California. It was formed in Berkeley, California, in 1999, and the only constant member of the band since then is Nick 13.
In January 1999, Tiger Army recorded its self-titled debut full-length album. The album was released the same year in October. Joel Day, the stand-up bassist of Tiger Army, left before the band signed a record deal for the album. He was then replaced with the Quakes stand-up bassist Rob Peltier who was hired to play on the band’s album. AFI’s Adam Carson also played drums on the record. After the release, Tiger Army went on a mini-tour to California, promoting the album the same year. Nick 13 invited former AFI bassist Geoff Kresge to join Tiger Army in 2000. Also, London May, an ex-Samhain drummer, joined the group.
In 2011, Tiger Army played a headlining show at the Orange County Fair to date. It is the largest standalone headlining show for the band to date. The band even performed two shows in Southern California and one in Las Vegas in March/April 2012, dubbed “Spring Forward.”
Tiger Army released an EP entitled Dark Paradise on June 22, 2018. It featured covers of the Chantays’ instrumental “Pipeline” and Lana Del Rey’s “Dark Paradise.”
