The Verve Pipe Information
The Verve Pipe is a rock band based in West Michigan currently including Brian Vander Ark, Lou Musa, Randy Sly, Joel Ferguson, Sam Briggs, and Channing Lee. The band was formed in East Lansing in 1992 by Brian Vander Ark, Donny Brown, and Brian Stout. The Verve Pipe released its debut extended play entitled “I’ve Suffered a Head Injury.” The band has been known for its energetic live performances and built strong followings in its initial years.
The Verve Pipe released its second album in the fall of 1993 entitled “Pop Smear.” The band was working with Jansen for pre-production along with basic tracks and Frazer with mixing and overdubs. It helped the band gain a devoted following in their home state, eventually leading the group to sign a deal with RCA Records in 1995.
The Verve Pipe released its first major-label project entitled “Villains” in 1996. The release was a hit and included a single named “The Freshman,” which was the band’s hit to reach number 5 on Billboard Hot 100 and the other single “Photograph.” The band’s other notable singles are “Cup of Tea,” “Hero,” “Crash Landing,” and “Never Let You Down.”
The Verve Pipe has released many notable studio albums throughout its career, including The Verve Pipe (July 1999), Underneath (September 2001), Overboard (June 17, 2014), and Parachute (February 17, 2017).
