The Protomen Information
The Protomen are a famous American rock band. The group's current lineup consists of Murphy Weller – bass synthesizer, bass guitar, percussions; Raul Panther III – vocals, multi-instruments; Sir Dr. Robert Bakker – guitar; Commander B. Hawkins. – synthesizer, vocoder, percussions; Shock Magnum – guitar; Reanimator – drums; K.I.L.R.O.Y. – fist pumps, handclaps, etc.; and Gambler Kirkdouglas – human choir, vocals. The group members started their official careers by composing concept albums based on the famous Mega Man, a video game series.
The Protomen is majorly composed of MTSU recording program graduates. The original conception of the band took place as a result of deadlines meeting while recording for better grades. In April 2004, the group delivered its first live performance. By 2005, the majority of the group members had graduated and shifted to Nashville for a better career. The first album by the Protomen presented Dr. Wily as an Orwellian ruler over a dystopian city. The city is full of humans frightened to stand against his control.
In 2007, CapCom invited the Protomen to play at Capcom's booth at San Diego Comic-Con. The band won to perform at the Bonnaroo music festival in 2009. They defeated a long list of Nashville bands to earn the stage. The group members also performed two showcases at CMJ Music Marathon in October 2009. The Protomen were also seen at the SXSW music festival in 2010 and PAX 2010 in Seattle. From 2010 to 2013, the band appeared in the mega-gaming conventions in PAX East in Boston.
