The Hollies Information
The Hollies is a British rock group that originated as a duo, formed by Graham Nash and Allan Clarke in 1962. They both were best friends since primary school. Clarke and Nash started performing during the skiffle craze of the late 1950s. They both then quit and joined another Manchester-based band named The Deltas. The band later changed its name to The Hollies. Currently, the group consists of Ray Stiles, Ian Parker, Peter Howarth, Steve Lauri, Tony Hicks, and Bobby Elliott.
The Hollies are considered as one of the leading groups from the British. In 2010, the band was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame because it is one of the early bands that never have disbanded yet. They continued to perform and record since its inception. The Hollies performed at the Cavern Club in Liverpool. While playing, they caught the attention of assistant producer for Parlophone and Ron Richards. Under his record label, the band released its debut single in May 1963 entitled “(Ain’t That) Just Like Me.” The single also hit number 25 on the UK Singles Chart.
The Hollies were known for their cover versions. The band released its debut studio album “Stay with The Hollies” in January 1964. The album was released on Parlaphone Records. The same year in November, the Hollies released its second studio album In The Hollies Style under the same record label. The band released several other albums, including Would You Believe? (1966), Hollies Sing Dylan (1969), Romany (1972), Free Three One-Double Seven o Four (1979). Their debut album in the United States was Here I Go Again (1964).
