The Figgs Information
The Figgs is a rock ‘n’ roll band that was formed in 1987 in Saratoga Springs, New York. The band was known initially as The Sonic Undertones. The current members of the group include Mike Gent, Pete Donnelly, and Pete Hayes. The founding members of the band are Mike Gent, Pete Donnelly, and Guy Lyons, all of whom went to high school together. In 1989, Lyons left the band temporarily and was replaced by Pete Hayes, who is still part of the band. Lyons returned to the band in 1992, but they did not fire Hayes; instead, they replaced him on the drums.
The Figgs celebrated their 30th anniversary in 2017. Over time, the band continued touring and recording steadily. Lexus used The Figgs’ for their song entitled “Je T’Adore” in a commercial called “First Sight” that was for the Lexus RX. In 2004, the band released “Je T’Adore” on their album entitled “Palais.” The Figgs had been performing for over five years by 1993 with an album under their belt. The first record label that signed the band was Imago.
The Figgs’ notable discography includes several albums such as Ginger (cassette) (1993), Ready Steady Stoned (Cassette) (1993), Low-Fi At Society High (CD/LP/ Cassette) (1994), Hi-Fi Dropouts (CD) (1994), Banda Macho (CD/LP/Cassette) (1996), The Figgs Couldn’t Get High (CD/LP) (1998), The Last Rock’N’Roll Tour (CD) (1997), For EP Fans Only (CD) (1999), and a number of other albums as well. The band has worked with many different record labels such as Absolute A Go Go, Capitol Records, Stomper, and Hearbox.
