The Exploited Information
The Exploited is a Scottish punk rock band formed in 1979 by Stevie Ross and Terry Buchan. The current lineup consists of Wattie Buchan (vocals), Wullie Buchan (drums), Irish Rob (bass), and Steve Campbell (guitars).
The EP Army Life and the album Punks Not Dead were both released in 1981, after the band signed with Secret Records in March. The band's 1980s cult following comprised working-class punks and skinheads. The Exploited's 1987 album Death Before Dishonour marked their transition from street punk to crossover thrash.
Live performances have continued, but since 2003's Fuck the System, when the Exploited last issued an album, the band has been silent in the studio. Both Slayer and Ice-T have recorded versions of their songs. Despite the band's frequent personnel shifts, Wattie has remained the Exploited's vocalist and leader. Former manager Gem Howard revealed in a documentary that he frequently had to sneak the band out of hotels late because they would vandalize the property and take everything of value.
