The Coronas Information
The Coronas are a rock band founded in 2003 and originated from Terenure, Dublin. The current lineup consists of Danny O’Reilly, Conor Egan, and Graham Knox. Dave McPhillips is the only past member of the band. The Coronas’ music is defined as Indie, rock, and alternative. The band releases its music on their record label, 3ú Records. The group has released five studio albums, one Live album, and many singles.
The Coronas performed to a sold-out crowd at Whelan’s, a venue in Dublin for new music, in September 2006. Soon they began recording their debut full-length album entitled Heroes or Ghosts. The album was released in 2007 and debuted at 27 on the Irish Albums Chart. Four more studio albums followed: Tony Was an Ex-Con 2009, Closer to You 2011, The Long Way 2014, Trust the Wire 2017, and True Love Waits 2020.
The Coronas also released many notable singles so far, including “San Diego Song,” “Grace, Don’t Wait!”, “Someone Else’s Hands,” “Addicted to Progress,” “Haunted,” “Mark My Words,” “Heroes or Ghosts,” “Find the Water,” and “Cold.”
The Coronas are well-known for their Christmas gigs played in the Olympia Theatre. The band also opened for Paul McCartney at the RDS Arena in 2010 and supported Justin Timberlake in Phoenix Park in 2013.
