Sunset Rollercoaster Information
Sunset Rollercoaster is a jazz-influenced synth-pop band. The current lineup of the group consists of Kuo-Hung Tseng, Hung-Li Chen, Shao-Hsuan Wang, Tsun-Lung Lo, and Hao-Ting Huang. Singer Kuo got the idea for the band after watching Velvet Underground videos online.
Tseng Kuo Hung, Kevin Lee, and Lo Zun Long started the band in 2009, and after releasing their debut album, Bossa Nova, in 2011, the members decided to part ways. Forests, featuring a new, deeper sound, was founded by singer Kuo Kuo and percussionist Lo Tsun. Cassa Nova, Sunset Rollercoaster's second studio album, was released in 2018. The band reunited in 2015. The band's 2019 EP, Vanilla Villa, is about an alien who falls in love with a human and wants to take them to a villa.
In 2011, the band participated in the Summer Sonic Music Festival in Japan. After taking some time off, the band reunited in 2017 to play at New York City's SummerStage as part of the Taiwanese Waves music festival. They made history 2018 by becoming the first Taiwanese band to record a live studio session at Audiotree. The "Business Trip Tour" took the band around North America in 2018. They contributed three original tunes to the Sonny Boy anime.
