Steelin Dan is a tribute band for Steely Dan. The current line-up of the group consists of Dave Adler (keyboards, vocals, and musical director), Dave Stoler (musical director and keyboards), Joey B. Banks (drums), Biff Blumfumgagnge (vocals), James “Pie” Cowan (percussion), Jim Doherty (trumpet), Al Falaschi (tenor sax and vocals), Clay Konnor (alto sax and EWI), Courtney Larsen (trombone and vocals), Phil Lyons (bass), Alison Margaret (backing vocals), Jay Moran (guitar and vocals), Megan Moran (backing vocals), Thomas Mattioli (mallets), and Dennis Shepherd (guitar and vocals). The tribute band has dozens of albums released to date, along with the world and national tour, and a few Grammy nominations.
Steelin Dan band was awarded a MAMA award for the best cover band and Madison Magazine’s Best Cover Band. The cover band is not only dedicated to reproducing the Steely Dan and Donald Fagen songbook but to bringing an energetic live show experience for the crowd every time. Some notable shows of the band consist of deep cuts and hits as well as occasionally complete albums. Steely Dan cover band brought together the R&B, Rock, and Jazz sensibilities just to form a piece of next-level pop music. The group also includes three background singers and a four-piece horn section.
