Static-X Information
Static-X is an American industrial metal band. The current lineup consists of Tony Campos, Koichi Fukuda, Ken Jay, and Xer0. Their breakthrough came in 1999, thanks to the success of their debut album, Wisconsin Death Trip. After receiving praise from members of the nu-metal community in the late '90s, the album was certified platinum in the United States.
Following the release of Machine in 2001, the band released four more studio albums over the next decade: Shadow Zone in 2003, Start a War in 2005, Cannibal in 2007, and Cult of Static in 2009. More than three million copies of the band's first six albums were sold worldwide by 2011.
In 2011, Static decided to go it alone and put the band on hiatus while he recorded the album Pighammer. In 2012, Static temporarily reunited Static-X, using only members of the touring band for his solo album. The group officially disbanded in June 2013. Forty-eight years old, Wayne Static left this world on November 1, 2014.
Static-X's Tony Campos (bass), Koichi Fukuda (lead guitar), and Ken Jay (drums) announced their reunion on October 23, 2018, saying they would be releasing Project: Regeneration Vol. 1 in 2020 in honor of Static. On January 26, 2024, a follow-up album titled Project: Regeneration Vol. 2 will be released.
