Sqwerv Information
Sqwerv began as an open jam in the legendary Denver bar El Chipultepec, but the group gelled in the music program at CU Denver. As soon as Guy Frydenlund and Caden Kramer started jamming together, they knew they had a lot in common musically. The groundwork for Sqwerv's open, meaningful, playful, and frequently experimental conception of this band was laid during this period.
As time went on, Sqwerv completed its formation with the inclusion of spaghetti-haired drummer Zach Bulgarelli and 'The Janitor' Jack Marty on the piano. The precise and sophisticated rhythms that Bulgarelli brings to the drums are a big reason why the band and the audience are drawn deeper into the experience. Thanks to Marty's skillful fingerwork on the piano, Sqwerv now has access to a wider range of tonal colors; in addition to being a technological prodigy, he also possesses a keen ear for harmony.
This funky four-piece Indie-Psych-Rock outfit took their love of vintage rock and psychedelic music and merged it with some funk to produce a sound that is wholly their own. When Sqwerv performs, the audience is led on a journey through fantastical tales, dreamy flowering guitar solos, and rumbling buzzing baselines, all thanks to the band's outstanding songwriting. This extraordinary quintet has performed everywhere, from little smoke-filled clubs to large theaters and festival stages, to continue to stir listeners' emotions with their sincere music.
