One American musical ensemble is Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. The current lineup includes Jeff Kazee, Neal Pawley, Thomas "Goose" Seguso, John Isley, Chris Anderson, Glenn Alexander, John Conte, and Southside Johnny. The group's 2010 album Pills and Ammo featured Southside Johnny and Jeff Kazee compositions. In addition to their yearly tours of the UK and Europe, the Jukes maintain a busy performance schedule around the northeastern United States.
He formed Southside Johnny and The Poor Fools in 2011 to broaden his artistic options. Jeff Kazee, John Conte, Tommy Brynes, and Soozie Tyrell make up this acoustic-ish ensemble that covers a lot of ground, playing songs by artists like Bob Dylan, Mose Allison, Muddy Waters, NRBQ, Richard Thompson, Emmylou Harris, George Jones, The Band, and even some stripped-down versions of the legendary Asbury Jukes.
Recorded in Jon Bon Jovi's studio, a converted horse barn in New Jersey, Songs From the Barn was the debut album of Southside Johnny and The Poor Fools, released in February 2013. The album has covers performed live by the band and six original compositions by John Lyon and Jeff Kazee. It comprises twelve tracks in total.
Soultime! was the first new album by Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes in five years, released in August 2015 by the band. Reviewers praised the "collection of vintage-sounding contemporary soul" record, and the band embarked on a massive tour to promote it in the fall of 2015.
