Silversun Pickups Information
Silversun Pickups, a Los Angeles-based American alternative rock band, was established in 2000. The band members are Joe Lester, Christopher Guanlao, Nikki Monninger, and Brian Aubert. Pikul, the band's first extended play (EP), was out in July 2005, while Carnavas, their first full-length album, was released on July 26, 2006. Their 2009 sophomore effort, Swoon, came out on April 14.
The band's third studio album, 2012's Neck of the Woods, was released on May 8. On September 25, 2015, they released Better Nature, their fourth studio album. Widow's Weeds, their fifth studio album, was released on June 7, 2019. Released as the album's second single, "Alone on a Hill" came out on August 5, 2022. This was the first song by the band to feature Monninger on lead vocals alone.
Their new track "David Lynch Has a Painting Made of Flies Eyes" and their version of "Just Like Christmas" by Low were both released in December 2022. The first one was an SSVU joint effort with Vig. Three tracks from Physical Thrills—"Scared Together," "Empty Nest," and "Alone on a Hill"—were released as an EP by the band in June 2023 under the title Acoustic Thrills. A month later, they released a cover version of "I'm the Man" by Joe Jackson, which had been recorded for the Netflix series The Lincoln Lawyer and had previously appeared in the second season teaser.
