Seratones Information
Seratones is an American soul-rock band. The current lineup consists of Connor Davis (guitar), Adam Davis (bass), Jesse Gabriel (drums), and AJ Haynes (vocals, guitar). Their name comes from the Spanish word for wax, "cera," which inspired them to form a band. The term "cut vinyl" refers to the process of making a record. After discovering a connection between the former moniker and serotonin, the band decided to rebrand themselves as Seratones rather than Ceratones.
Similar bands to them include Alabama Shakes, but they put their own bluesy, swinging, soulful spin on rock 'n' roll that sets them apart. They met the frontman of NERVS while opening for another band, Ghost Bones, in Arkansas. Fat Possum Records employed the singer, and she introduced them to the label's president, Matthew Johnson.
In 2015, Seratones inked a significant recording contract with Fat Possum Records to release three albums. On May 6, 2016, Seratones launched their debut album, Get Gone, and on May 7, 2016, they debuted their track "Chandelier" on CBS This Morning. The band embarked on a spring 2016 tour to support their latest studio effort.
Power, Seratones' second studio album and first release on New West Records, was released on August 23, 2019. They made a music video for the title track, "Power," one of the album's five hits.
