Roger Daltrey Information
Roger Daltrey (March 1, 1944) is an English actor, singer, and musician. Along with Pete Townshend and John Entwistle, Daltrey attended Acton County Grammar School and Victoria Primary School in west London. He attended Grammar School after showing academic promise in the English public school system and finishing first in his class on the eleventh-plus exam. Daltrey built his first guitar in 1957, a cherry red Stratocaster knockoff.
The "Use It or Lose It" tour, which Daltrey began on October 10, 2009, with a new touring band he dubbed "No Plan B" on the Alan Titchmarsh Show, was a solo excursion across the United States and Canada. With Frank Simes on lead guitar, Jon Button on bass, Loren Gold on keyboards, and Scott Devours on drums, the band featured Simon Townshend on rhythm guitar and backing vocals. October 12 concert in Seattle featured a guest appearance by Eddie Vedder. Daltrey and No Plan B shared the stage with Eric Clapton on multiple occasions in 2010, including Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Daltrey's new solo studio album, titled As Long as I Have You, will be released on June 1, 2018, as announced on March 15, 2018. On April 13, 2018, he promoted the album's lead single on BBC One's The Graham Norton Show. The solo Live and Kicking Tour, which Daltrey announced in May 2021, began in August of that year and marked his return to touring. After some postponement, the tour took place in the summer of 2022.
