Robby Krieger Information
Robert Alan Krieger is an American guitarist born in Los Angeles, California. Ronny, Krieger's twin brother, also went to a Hebrew school. As a boarding student, Krieger taught himself guitar during his nighttime study sessions at the exclusive Menlo School in Atherton, California.
To start, he took a ukulele and tuned it to the lowest four guitar strings so he could play along with a record he had. Krieger learned flamenco guitar from Professor Frank Chin in the mid-1960s. At New York City's Beacon Theatre on December 31, 2013, Krieger was joined by Southern rockers Gov't Mule. Krieger was the ceremonial first pitch thrower for a Los Angeles Dodgers game in July 2017.
Performing "Rooster" as a duet with Alice in Chains at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles to end their sold-out show on August 29, 2018, Krieger was there. In 2020, Krieger's solo album The Ritual Begins At Sundown was published on August 14. The Asian Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, including Krieger and Maki Mae, was announced on September 10, 2020.
While the world was under lockdown due to the epidemic in 2020, guitarist Krieger started posting guitar lessons to the Doors' official YouTube page. With the help of author and musician Jeff Penalty Alulis, Krieger published a memoir titled Set the Night on Fire: Living, Dying, and Playing Guitar With the Doors on October 12, 2021.
