Porno for Pyros is an American rock & roll band that was founded in 1992 in Los Angeles, California, after the initial dissolution of Jane's Addiction. Singer Perry Farrell, drummer Stephen Perkins, guitarist Peter DiStefano, and bassist Mike Watt are the current band members. Farrell and Perkins were previously members of Jane's Addiction.
Martyn LeNoble, the band's founding bass guitarist, played with them from 1992 to 1995 and had planned to rejoin them in 2022 or 2023. Before taking a break in 1998, the band put out two more studio albums: Porno for Pyros and Good God's Urge. An appearance at lead singer Perry Farrell's 50th birthday celebration in 2009 was the only time the original lineup came together.
Amidst worldwide lockdowns in 2020, the band's lineup from the Watt period reunited for Lolla2020, a free YouTube broadcast concert. In the years after their appearance, the band members kept in touch and collaborated on new music.
In 2022, after more than 24 years apart, Farrell and Perkins brought Porno for Pyros back together for their first public performances; this was followed by a complete reunion of the original lineup at the Welcome to Rockville festival.
In 2023, the original quartet began working on new material to be released in 2024 as a four-song EP. In November 2023, LeNoble departed the band amicably after a full reunion tour was postponed until 2024. The band then announced that their upcoming tour would be a farewell tour.
