Pool Holograph Information
Pool Holograph, which Wyatt Grant started as a side project in his bedroom roughly ten years ago, became a true band with the addition of Zach Stuckmann on bass and the Stolz brothers on drums and lead guitar in 2015. Since then, the band has been a mainstay of Chicago's indie music scene while always reinventing themselves musically and philosophically. The band spent a lot of time during this period recording their debut studio album, Transparent World, and their EP, Town Quarry. A split 7" with fellow genre-benders Courtesy was issued on Land & Sea DeptAudial .'s LSD imprint last year, marking Pool Holograph's debut appearance on vinyl.
Released in early 2020, Love Touched Time and Time Began to Sweat recalls a time not too far off when we still had regular face-to-face interactions with loved ones and followed a routine of practice, performance, and DJ sets. This album was written and recorded with a strong will to change the band's method of music production. Album highlights include the band's first guest contributions, a focus on crystal-clear vocals, and an openness to sparse instrumentation. Their new album doesn't waste time conjuring the band's wild but essential heart despite its long-held interest in pursuing transgressive, oblique strategies in their writing and recording.
