Pink Martini is an American band. The current lineup consists of China Forbes, Storm Large, Thomas Lauderdale, Robert Taylor, Gavin Bondy, Achilles Liarmakopoulos, Dan Faehnle, Phil Baker, Nicholas Crosa, Timothy Nishimoto, Brian Lavern Davis, Miguel Bernal, Reinhardt Melz, Antonis Andreou, Pansy Chang, Maureen Love, Kyle Mustain, Mihail Iossifov, Dimitar Karamfilov, Andrew Borger, Jimmie Herrod, Edna Vazquez, and William Seiji Marsh. In 1997, Pink Martini debuted in Europe at the Cannes Film Festival, and in 1998, the Oregon Symphony, under the leadership of Norman Leyden, gave the piece its symphonic debut.
This band's groundbreaking first album, Sympathique, was given a "20th Anniversary Edition" in 2018. The album's most well-known track, an arrangement of Ravel's "Bolero" cut off the initial release but included here because it had since entered the public domain, is back for the 20th Anniversary Edition. The band also published a French-language greatest hits album in 2018 titled Non-Ouais! - The French Songs of Pink Martini featured tracks sung in French from across the band's discography.
In The Cut, Nurse Betty, Josie and the Pussycats, Tortilla Soup, Hitch, Shanghai Kiss, Mary and Max, and Mr. & Mrs. Smith all feature Pink Martini songs, and the band's music has also been featured on Dead Like Me, The Sopranos, The West Wing, Castle, Sherlock, Parks and Recreation, Better Call Saul, and Scream Queens. Their song "Una notte a Napoli" is featured prominently in the Italian film Mine Vaganti (2010), directed by Italian-Turkish filmmaker Ferzan Zpetek.
