One Night of Queen Information
The music and stagecraft of Queen are celebrated in One Night of Queen, a two-hour touring stage extravaganza. Gary Mullen, whose vocal and physical impersonation of Freddie Mercury won him the talent program Stars in Their Eyes, fronts the band performing this song under the name Gary Mullen & The Works. Guitarist David Brockett, drummer Jon Halliwell, bassist Billy Moffat, and keyboardist Malcolm Gentles round out the group.
In 2000, Mullen received a record number of votes on Stars In Their Eyes, and soon after, he and his band, The Works, hit the road to perform an homage to Queen titled One Night of Queen. The presentation incorporates elements from several different Queen tours from the 1980s, including custom-built lighting equipment adapted to resemble those used on several Queen tours between 1980 and 1986.
Actor Kevin Pollak, Governor of Texas Rick Perry, and singer Rick Astley are just a few of the famous people who have seen and enjoyed the One Night of Queen concert since it began in 2001. During their 2018 North American tour, Judas Priest's lead singer, Rob Halford, caught a gig in Phoenix, Arizona's The Celebrity Theatre.
