Nova Twins Information
Nova Twins is an English rock duo. The current lineup of the duo consists of Georgia South (bassist) and Amy Love (vocalist and guitarist). Since they were young, Love and South have been inseparable, and their bands have frequently shared bill space. Love's ancestry includes Iran and Nigeria, while South's includes Jamaica and Australia. (William South, Georgia's father, is a musician as well).
Together, in 2014, they released the single "Bad Bitches" under the band name BRAATS. Later that year, they decided on the name Nova Twins, and in April 2015, they released their debut single, "Bassline Bitch." With the help of that single, they were signed to the indie label Robotunes, and in 2016, they published their debut self-titled EP. Following their December 2016 performance at the French event Rencontres Trans Musicales, during which they were dubbed "the best band you've never heard of" by Tom Morello, Nova Twins spent much of 2017 on the road in support of Prophets of Rage in various countries.
They have since opened for Wolf Alice, Little Simz, Dream Wife, Black Honey, and Skunk Anansie. 2017 saw the group's self-release of the singles "Thelma & Louise" and "Mood Swings," as well as the launch of their unique clothing line, Bad Stitches. "Hit Girl" and "Lose Your Head" were released independently by Nova Twins in 2018. They played gigs all over the place, including at the Afropunk event in Brooklyn, New York, as part of their ongoing tour.
