Noisia Information
Noisia is a Dutch electronic music trio. The current lineup consists of Thijs de Vlieger, Nik Roos, and Martijn van Sonderen. After a few collaborations with Nik and Thijs, Martijn was added to the Noisia crew. Martijn had been interested in music (hip hop production/classical piano) for quite some time before he linked up with Nik and Thijs. On a production discussion board, Noisia discovered the first tune that piqued a label's interest (Mayhem's Shadow Law Recordings).
Teebee's Subtitles, Goldie's Metalheadz, Rob Playford's Moving Shadow, RAM Records, Virus Recordings, Hospital Records, and Renegade Hardware are some of the notable drum & bass labels that have published Noisia's work. BBC Radio 1 has given the Dutch group a lot of airplay. Robbie Williams eventually expressed interest in working with Noisia, asking them to remix his cover of Manu Chao's "Bongo Bong & Je ne t'aime plus," which they adapted into a house single published by EMI. The Noisia remix of Moby's "Alice" was likewise well-received.
Tasha Baxter's Colour of Me, an album wholly produced by Noisia, was released in early 2007. They met Baxter and bandmate Andre Scheepers on the internet, and the two-piece band was signed to EMI South Africa. The project took more than a year to finish, with the final output being a pop-oriented record with reggae and drum and bass influences.
