Mustafa Information
Mustafa Ahmed (July 28, 1996) is a Sudanese-Canadian singer, songwriter, and poet. He was born in Toronto, Ontario. He presented his original work, "A Single Rose," at Nelson Mandela Park Public School while he was in grade 7. The film received a lot of attention, and he received good marks at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival in Toronto in 2009.
At the age of 18, Mustafa rose to prominence after appearing on Lorraine Segato's record "Rize Time," a remix of her band's original song "Rise Up," in which he performs spoken word poetry on the prelude. In September 2014, he went on to develop the spoken word poetic video Spectrum of Hope. Thompson Egbo-Egbo and he worked together on the project.
In his Pan Am poetry with Heather Hiscox, he was featured on CBC News, where he explores the connection between art and athletics. Drake featured Mustafa in a poem that he uploaded on Instagram in January 2015, and it won him national attention. Mustafa wrote a poem to "respect his hero" Muhammad Ali after death. On Metro Morning, a CBC Radio One local morning show in Toronto, Ahmed performed the poetry that resulted from that composition.
On June 1, 2018, Mustafa performed at the Fast in the six festival in Nathan Phillips Square. He extended condolences to his fallen associate, Smoke Dawg, who was shot and killed in front of a Toronto nightclub on June 30, 2018.
