Mike Tramp Information
Michael Trempenau (January 14, 1961) is a Danish songwriter and singer. He is better known as Mike Tramp. He was born in Denmark and grew up in Vesterbro. Tramp began his musical career in Vesterbro Ungdomsgard, where he used to sing as a young musician in a youth group club in Copenhagen. In 1976, Tramp joined the pop band called Mabel, where he started performing his duties as a lead singer.
In 1983, Tramp met Vito Bratta, and they both ended up forming a rock band called “White Lion” the same year. From the mid-1980s, the band became very successful till the early 1990s. The group released its debut album “Fight to Survive” in 1985. White Lion’s second album entitled “Pride” released two singles, including “When the Children Cry” and “Wait” that reached number 3 and number 8, respectively. Tramp continued to have success with his band’s third album entitled “Big Game.”
Tramp formed another Hard rock band called “Freak of Nature.” The band released overall three albums between 1993 to 1998, including Freak of Nature, Gathering of Freaks, and Outcasts. In 1993, the group shared their stages with Dio and Helloween in Europe.
Tramp began his solo career after Freak of Nature got disbanded. In 1998, he released his debut album as a solo artist entitled “Capricorn.” Guitarist Kenny Korade and bass player Jerry Best, who was Tramp’s former bandmates in Freak of Nature, got featured. His other albums as a solo artist include Recovering the Wasted Years (2002), More to Life Than This (2003), Songs I Left Behind (2004), The Rock ‘N’ Roll Circus (2009), and several others.
