Mike Peters (February 25, 1959) is a Welsh musician best known as the lead single of “Alarm.” However, Alarm was disbanded in 1991, which left Peters writing and releasing solo work. The Alarm eventually was reconstituted in 2000 by Peters; additionally, Peters remained the vocalist for Big Country band between 2011 and 2013. He is also the co-founder of the “Love Hope Strength” Foundation.
On October 10, 1975, Peters made his musical debut when he fronted Hairy Hippie, a band he founded with his schoolmates to perform at his sister’s 21st birthday party at the Talardy Hotel in St. Asaph. The young band performed the cover version of “If You Think You Know How To Love Me” by Smokie.
In 1976, Peters saw the Sex Pistols playing at Chester, and after that, he formed his first proper band named “Toilets.” Some of his notable singles are “Back into the System” (1994), “Not I Mean I’r System” (1994), “It Just Don’t Get Any Better Than This” (1994), and “Shine On” (1996).
Peters has released countless albums throughout his career since he has started. His popular albums include Breathe (January 1, 1995), Breathe – The Acoustic Sessions (January 1, 1995), Feel Free (August 5, 1996), The Alarmstock Collection Live (September 1, 2003), Mike Peters in Session 2007, and Mike Peters in Session 2008.
