Lez Zeppelin is an all-female tribute act that is famous for performing the work of Led Zeppelin. The act originated from New York City, New York. It follows the hard rock, heavy metal, and tribute band music genres. Lez Zeppelin has been active since 2004. The current band members include Marlain Angelides (lead vocals, tambourine), Joan Chew (bass guitar, backing vocals, keyboards), Steph Paynes (guitars, backing vocals, acoustic guitar, theremin), and Leesa Harrington-Squyres (drums, backing vocals, gong). There is a long list of former members of Lez Zeppelin.
The first album by Lez Zeppelin was released in April 2007 after touring the US and Europe. The album was entitled Lez Zeppelin, and produced by Eddie Kramer. The release was followed by the invitations for the band to perform at festivals like Rock am Ring and Rock Im Park in Germany, Download Festival in the UK, and the Voodoo Festival in New Orleans. Lez Zeppelin also played a benefit concert in Mumbai in March 2009.
The second album by this female group was Led Zeppelin I, which was released in 2010. Another EP by Lez Zeppelin was The Island of Skyros, coming out in late 2019. A few of the hit singles included in these albums and EP are "Battle of Evermore," "Immigrant Song," "Good Times Bad Times," "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You," "Your Time Is Gonna Come," "Black Mountain Side," "Communication Breakdown," "Kashmir," and a few more.
